100 and 102-year-old couple falls in love in nursing home and ties the knot – send your congratulations!

When a couple first meets, they immediately fell in love. A few months later, they are being married at the courthouse.

It’s a well-known story, but in this instance, there isn’t a young, starry-eyed couple involved. It’s actually two senior citizens who are both over 100 years old.

The Kingston Residence is a senior living community in Sylvania, Ohio, where John and Phyllis Cook both reside. They stumbled across one another because their flats were on the same floor and developed a close relationship.

“To tell you the truth, we fell in love with each other,” Phyllis, turning 103 this summer mentioned. “I know you think that may be a little bit far-fetched for somebody our age, but we fell in love with each other.”

“Well, we were just compatible in a whole lot of ways, found ourselves enjoying each other’s company,” said John, a 100-year-old WWII veteran. They were both widows, having each been married twice before.

The newlyweds deserve our congratulations! While residing at Kingston, John and Phyllis became friends. At the youthful ages of 103 and 100 years…

But their quality time together goes beyond playing Bingo. When asked what their favorite activity to do together was, John replied: “Well, I probably shouldn’t talk about that.”

But Phyllis was more direct:

“He’s not completely dead sexually and neither am I!” Phyllis explaiend. But she had her morals to consider: “I just don’t believe in hopping in bed as a Christian unless you’re married.”

As a result, John consented to turn her into an honourable woman, and the two of them left for the courthouse to obtain a marriage licence.

They had no idea they would leave the courthouse as husband and wife.

“It wasn’t the plan, but we got here and they said we could marry you here,” John told WNWO.

He couldn’t wait for married life to begin, clearly: “I said ‘good, let’s get it over with.’”

The couple has many happy years ahead of them. Phyllis’ mother lived to be 106, so despite their advanced age, they might have some good genes on their side.

This story demonstrates that you can start a new relationship and a new chapter at any age.

Nevertheless, Phyllis claims that the pair will continue to live in their respective apartments because they recognise the value of having a private area. Why make haste?

Wish the couple a long marriage! Share their heartwarming story!
