Blake Shelton Almost Quit The Voice Before Season 23

The departure of Blake Shelton from “The Voice” heralds the end of an era. Since the program’s 2011 NBC premiere, “The Voice” coach and country singer has been a part of it.

It’s undeniable that Shelton’s involvement on the NBC hit garnered him new followers because many people saw a different side of him, even though he was already a well-known musician when he started working as a coach.

He served as a coach in Season 1 alongside CeeLo Green, Adam Levine, and Christina Aguilera. Wins were just one aspect of Shelton’s success throughout his time on the program.

Shelton has won nine times on “The Voice,” according to NBC. In his final season, he might win double digits and earn the associated bragging rights!

Everything wonderful has to come to an end, including Shelton’s gratifying tenure on the NBC program. Shelton made his exit from the program official in October.

“I’ve been debating this for a while, and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to move away from ‘The Voice’ after Season 23,” he wrote in a lengthy Instagram post.

“This program has altered my life for the better in every manner, and it will always feel like home to me. It’s been a wild ride these past 12 years.”

But his departure had been anticipated for a while. Although Blake Shelton’s departure from “The Voice” would be strange, his time there was already all but ended.

Shelton and his co-stars spoke about a variety of subjects during an interview on “Today,” including Shelton’s impending exit from the program. The “God’s Country” performer admitted to Carson Daly that he had thought about leaving teaching a few years ago.

“I suppose I was about to call it quits just when COVID hit,” Shelton admitted. “And then, because of COVID, I didn’t want to leave the show and put everyone in a bind. This show changed my life, and I’ll stay here till the world returns to normal.”

Shelton acknowledged how much it meant to him to be a part of something special even though he chose to quit the show.

“I met my wife on this show; it’s transformed my life in every way possible,” he explained. “This has been amazing, but the time has come. It’s not even time to think about what comes next… “A little nothing would be good.”

In a tearful interview with Entertainment Tonight, Gwen Stefani, Shelton’s wife, also commented about his decision to depart.

“I can’t get the words out of my mouth because it stinks,” she explained. We concur with her!
