The biography of his ex-wife, Priscilla Presley, is less well known.

When Priscilla Presley was married to Elvis Presley, she was a partner in one of the most well-known partnerships in history. Between 1967 to 1973, she shared residence with “The King”; the couple had a daughter together named Lisa Marie.In 1945, Priscilla Presley was born in Brooklyn.

Her grandmother was of Scots-Irish and English ancestry, while her paternal grandpa was from Norway.Ann, Priscilla’s mother, gave birth to her at the age of just 19 years old. Unfortunately, Priscilla’s biological father, a pilot in the US Navy, would never get to see his daughter grow up.

A horrible tragedy befell the family when Priscilla’s father, James Wagner, perished tragically in a plane crash when she was just 6 months old.Priscilla’s mother met Paul Beaulieu, an Air Force officer, a few years later. Paul developed become the father figure Priscilla required; he would eventually resemble her biological father. However, Paul’s military profession necessitated frequent family moves among American air bases.

In her reflections on this time in her life, Priscilla characterized herself as “a shy, pretty, little girl, unhappily accustomed to moving from base to base every two or three years.”Priscilla fretted about making friends as a young child since she knew she would soon have to relocate. But one unique action would alter her life irrevocably.

Priscilla’s stepfather was sent to West Germany in the middle of the 1950s. When she learned the news, Priscilla was distraught since she didn’t want to travel to a foreign country across the Atlantic. Of course, she had no way of knowing that she would run across a certain Elvis Presley.

Priscilla and Elvis initially met during a gathering in Bad Nauheim, Germany. Even at the young age of 14, Priscilla had a lasting impression on Elvis.Two years later, Elvis extended an invitation for her to spend the summer at his house in Los Angeles. Later that year, she returned to Graceland to celebrate Christmas.

By the following spring, Elvis had persuaded Priscilla’s family to allow her to relocate to a home close to Graceland in the US. Before long, she had moved in with Elvis.They became engaged over the holidays in 1966, and on May 1st, 1967, they were married in Las Vegas. The following year, they had their daughter Lisa Marie.

By 1968, Elvis’ attraction towards Priscilla completely fizzled out after she gave birth to their daughter.

The singer spoke about how he didn’t want to marry Priscilla in the first place and he told Lamar Fike that he “didn’t pull out in time.” When he suggested a “trial separation” to his wife, she was completely shocked by the idea.

As Priscilla wrote in her autobiography, Elvis “had mentioned to me before we were married that he had never been able to make love to a woman who had a child.” And, according to Vice, that is what allegedly occurred after she gave birth to this baby girl.

Elvis and Priscilla separated on February 23, 1972, but they remained close, leaving the courthouse on the day of their divorce hand in hand.

“I divorced him even though I still loved him, but I needed to find out what the world was like, but the greatest thing about our relationship is that we still loved each other,” Priscilla said.

Priscilla made the decision to concentrate on her own career as a businesswoman after splitting from Elvis. She built a successful clothing boutique in Los Angeles where plenty of celebrities went to shop for clothing. She was instrumental in making Graceland a popular tourist destination after Elvis’ passing, which was highly successful both financially and culturally.

She started working on television in the 1980s, making her co-hosting début on the show Those Amazing Animals. Her most notable performances, however, were as Jane Spencer in the popular Naked Gun movies and as Jenna Wade in the enduring television series Dallas.

Like her father, Lisa Marie Presley is a musician. She has continued to be in the public eye while building her own musical career. Lisa has been married four times and has gone through three divorces. Her marriages to Michael Jackson and Nicolas Cage have garnered a lot of media attention.

She had a son named Benjamin and a daughter named Danielle Riley Keough from her first marriage to Chicago-born musician Danny Keough. In a discussion on the British chat show “Lorraine,” Lisa Marie remarked that more than 40 years after her father’s passing, she had recently been thinking about her experiences with him.

Even though it has been a long time since Elvis died away, Priscilla still does her best to preserve his legacy.
