The custody dispute between Kevin Costner and his former, Christine Baumgartner, lasted two days in court.
After 18 years of marriage, Baumgartner filed for divorce from Costner in May 2023, and the two are now being divorced.
Due to Baumgartner’s desire for Costner to boost his child support payments, the former model and the actor were in court for two days.
Throughout the sessions, they both testified.
The judge decided that Costner must pay Baumgartner $63,209 in child support each month following two days of testimony. The actor was temporarily paying $129,755 a month when the actor won the lawsuit. She intended to raise this sum by $31,837 to a total of $161,592, but she lost.
Baumgartner was reportedly stunned when the judge cut her child support payments, according to a person close to her. When the judge announced the decision, the jury allegedly appeared stunned, including Costner.
The insider added that Baumgartner described the ruling as a complete joke. Baumgartner, who is more than disappointed by the ruling, allegedly said her ex and his attorneys made her look shallow and appear as a greedy gold digger.
However, after the judge rejected her motion, the fashion designer relocated to a four-bedroom flat in Montecito for $40,000. There is a wooded hiking route close to the unit.
If only the actor could get over his rage and want for retribution, the designer, who still has legal issues with Costner, reportedly stated, he would see how cutting her child support payments would harm their children.
Cayden Costner, 16, Hayes Costner, 14, and Grace Costner, 13, were born to Baumgartner and Costner.
What Are Baumgartner’s Other Demands, and Where Does She Live Now?
On September 6, 2023, Costner and Baumgartner are expected to appear in court to discuss who would pay for the divorce’s legal expenses. The mother of three is requesting that Costner pay her solicitors $575,000 and expert fees of $280,000.
The actor has already stated that he will cover his own legal costs. According to the paperwork produced in court at the beginning of September 2023, the 68-year-old had already earned $664,000 in legal fees as of July 2023.
The scheduled court hearings come after a source said Baumgartner is angry at Costner because he “is ripping her apart from her community.” The source added the designer feels that the actor is punishing her. However, Baumgartner isn’t feeling defeated. “Christine said the fight is far from over,” the source noted.
The 49-year-old woman requested an increase in her child support payments so that she and her children could relocate to a beach property.

Until July 2023, Baumgartner, Costner, and their children shared a magnificent $145 million California estate before the designer was ordered by the court to leave.
The designer and their children currently reside in the luxurious Montecito property, which features a pool, a well-kept lawn, a jacuzzi, and high-end fixtures.
After the child custody hearing, Costner also made a statement. He acknowledged that divorce was a terrible state to be in but that’s where he and his ex-partner were right now.
The “Yellowstone” actor claimed that the reason the divorce was so terrible was because it put someone he cares about on the other side.
Costner acknowledged his continued affection for Baumgartner. The actor continued by saying that he and his ex-wife hoped the divorce would be finalised fast and that they would have a good relationship as parents to their children.
