Earlier in 2018, Meghan Markle grieved over the loss of a dear friend and wrote a touching letter to express her feelings.
Bereavement is a state that Meghan Markle is currently experiencing. What exactly occurred with the duchess? On the website of the animal welfare group Mayhew, which she has chosen to support as a royal patron since 2019, the Duchess of Sussex wrote a few words.
In honor of the Duchess’s dear friend Oli Juste, who was the one who initially connected her with the charity, the statement was written and distributed in his name.
On January 15, 2022, my beloved friend Oli was killed in a violent and unexpected accident.
Meghan Markle wrote in a letter that after his death, “He left me and many others with shattered hearts and reflections, knowing that his legacy to his animal friends is very simple: just love them.”
In the letter, the duchess describes the ways in which Oli aided her both publicly and behind the scenes at the Mayhew organization.
Both Meghan and Oli are well-known for their compassion toward animals; in fact, at the time of the incident in question, Meghan’s future husband and fiancé Rob was helping her injured dog Guy recover from his injuries. In one of his writings, he said, “They adored him as if he were their own.”
In the beginning of this year, Meghan’s contract of three years came to an end. On the other hand, the duchess has declared that she will maintain her support for the organization in question. As a way to wrap up his remarks, he stated that Mayhew will be the one to carry on Oli’s legacy.
“In his honor, we will construct the Oli Juste wing at Mayhew to house animals whose owners are having difficulty locating them because, like Oli, they will always be loved and never forgotten,” he wrote in the letter. “In his honor, we will establish the Oli Juste wing at Mayhew to house animals.”
On their wedding day, May 19, 2018, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry stated that they planned to step down from their positions as senior members of the British royal family in the beginning of 2020. As a direct consequence of their decision, the royal house will no longer provide the couple with protection or support in any capacity.
In an interview that took place in March of 2021 with Oprah Winfrey, the couple explained the reasoning behind their decision to retire.
